The most elevated cabin on the property. Views across the valley, made for slowing down.
There is no wifi and no television here, which this high up stops registering as a subtraction after about an hour. What there is instead: a wood fire, a deep stone bath set against the glass, and a skylight over the ensuite that earns its keep at four in the morning, when the sky above the ridge is at its clearest.
Almost everything in the cabin was made within an hour of where it stands. Maguire + Devine drew it, I.D Joinery built the cabinetry, Zsolt Faludi threw the basins a few minutes down the road in Glen Huon, and the vanity is reclaimed blackwood from Matt Black Furniture.
It sleeps two adults, or one. A queen bed dressed in Cultiver linen, a kitchenette with a cooktop and a dishwasher, a private wine collection you can buy from during your stay, and a deck of your own looking out over the valley, which from this end of the property is most of the reason to be here.

You know that feeling when the universe is telling you it's time for a change? This is exactly how Hunter Huon Valley came to be.
After living a fast-paced lifestyle in Melbourne, we knew it was time to embark on a new adventure and set our sights on the Huon Valley in Southern Tasmania.
The Huon Valley stole our hearts with its abundance of locally grown food, wine + cider, the passionate producers and the scenic landscape.
We loved the idea of living in a rural location as this would allow us to learn to appreciate the simple things in life and ultimately live a slower paced life.
Our objective was to slow down, be present and focus on what was really important. This is the overall philosophy of Hunter Huon Valley. We encourage our guests to switch off, lose themselves in the moment, get back to nature and take the time to have a meaningful conversation. For this very reason, there are no televisions or Wi-Fi available within the cabins.
Our vision was to create a special place for people to escape and we look forward to sharing this with you.
